Contemporary Songs for Easter 4

Here are a couple of lovely song suggestions for Easter 4Good Shepherd Sunday.  Both are relatively short, easily learned, and could be used as a response to the scripture readings for the 4th Sunday of Easter.

Goodness and Mercy, written by Bruce and Cheryl Harding, from their This is the Day album.  The song is posted on their Evensong website.

Goodness and mercy shall follow me all my days.
Goodness and mercy shall follow me all my days,
and I shall dwell in your house, O God, my whole life long!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days.

You can find a choral versiona piano/vocal score, and an mp3 of the song on their website.

Also take a look at He Will Feed His Flock, written by Mary Kay Beall with music by John Carter. It's available on Hope Publishing's Online Hymnody website--just search for the title of the hymn.

He will feed his flock like a shepherd,
he will feed his flock like a shepherd,
he will feed his flock like a shepherd,
and carry them in his arms.

By his rod and staff he will lead them…
and they will not go astray.

They will lie in peace in green pastures…
and he will keep watch nearby.

When they hear his voice, they will follow…
he calls each one by name.
